The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), with financial support from the World Bank, is implementing the Sri Lanka Energy Transition Program under the theme of "Secure, Affordable, and Sustainable Energy for Sri Lanka". This initiative aims to enhance the reliability and resilience of the national power system while supporting the integration of renewable energy (RE) into the national grid.
The proposed Project is structured around three main components. Component 1 will establish a de risking platform to mobilize private capital with International Development Association (IDA) guarantee. Component 2 will focus on investments needs for system stability and grid integration of the RE sub-projects, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Component 3 will help to enhance institutional capacity by providing technical assistance with a focus on providing transaction advisory support for CEB and technical assistance for pipeline development and competitive procurement process.
