During the latter part of November 2022, Ceylon Electricity Board has conducted several planning exercises to prepare the electricity dispatch schedule for year 2023. CEB analyzed more than twenty scenarios with different attributes analyzing the past hydrological data, demand forecast, present economic parameters & projections, and plant availability.
Further, CEB critically analyzed the current economic constraints and shipping constraints to import required coal quantities when preparing the dispatch schedule for year 2023. In addition, CEB critically reviewed the proposed planned maintenance program of the power plants and finalized the planned maintenance schedule for year 2023 to optimize the generation from available power plants.
